Compatible Toner
The acceptance and consumption of compatible toner varies
significantly from market to market. In general we see that
in emerging markets and markets with lower purchasing power
the acceptance of compatible toner is high and reaches in
some markets and market-segments more then 70%.
But also in highly developed market we can see that if the
economical situation is getting difficult the acceptance and
consumption of compatible toner increases.
Monochrome vs
Color Toner
On the basis of application, the market is segmented into color printing and monochrome printing. Amongst these, the color printing segment is predicted to take the largest volume share, of approximately 51%, in 2020.
So today at least but also in the near future there are still many monochrome printing devices installed in the market and as we can see the OEM’s continue to launch new monochrome devices as users have realized that not all the documents need to be printed in color.
Conventional vs Chemical Toner
On the basis of production technology, the printing toners market is segmented into chemically prepared toners and conventional toners. Amongst these in 2013 conventional toners represented a share of more than 70% in the market for printing toners.
